Revising Your Paper: RADaR

Use Revision RADaR techniques as you review your draft carefully.
  • Replace general terms with vivid details and unclear explanations with precise ideas.
  • Add specific details or missing information to support your argument.
  • Delete information that does not support your argument.
  • Reorder sentences and paragraphs to present ideas clearly and logically.
Read your paper to a neighbor to make sure it reads smoothly. Vary sentence beginnings and length. Tie ideas and sentences together with transition words, such as one reason why, however and in addition to.
