In chapters 16-18, we will see many acts of defiance or rebellion against the Capitol. Prompt: Describe how Katniss, Peeta, the Tributes adn Cinna each defied the Capitol. Then use your inferencing skills to evaluate which of these acts you feel President Snow would find to be the most defiant. Grading Scale: 3 = Each body paragraph has cited text evidence and an explanation of how it supports your thinking. 2.5 = Most body paragraphs have cited text evidence and an explanation of how it supports your thinking. 2 = Your thinking is explained, but no text evidence is cited. Acts of Defiance or RebellionDefiance: a daring or bold resistance to authority or to any opposing force. In chapters 16-18 of Catching Fire, we have seen many acts of defiance or rebellion against the Capitol. Find the green "acts of rebellion" chart in your notebook. Record how Katniss, Peeta, the Tributes and Cinna each defied the Capitol. On top of the tab: record what the character did that was defiant or rebellion. Under the tab: record why this action would be concidered defiant. Think about what you know about President Snow and infer why these character actions would make him angry.
